Methodology: How We Estimate Creator Earnings

Creator Income Calculator gives directional estimates, not guarantees. This page explains exactly where our numbers come from and how each calculator works, so you can judge the figures for yourself.

Where the data comes from

Our RPM, CPM, and payout figures are compiled from publicly available creator income reports, advertising benchmark studies, and aggregated ranges commonly cited across the creator economy. We cover 30+ niches and 50+ countries. Each underlying data point is classified as an industry benchmark, a creator report, or an estimate where public figures are sparse.

Because platforms do not publish per-niche, per-country payout tables, some values are modeled: we anchor each niche to a baseline rate and adjust it by an audience-country factor that reflects advertiser demand and purchasing power. This produces consistent, realistic ranges rather than a single false-precision number.

How the YouTube RPM calculator works

We start from an estimated RPM range (revenue per 1,000 views) for your niche and audience country. RPM is already net of YouTube's revenue share — creators keep 55% of ad revenue and YouTube takes 45%. We then apply:

  • Video length: videos under 8 minutes earn slightly less (no mid-roll ads); 15+ minute videos add an estimated +30% mid-roll bonus, shown as a separate line so it is never double-counted.
  • YouTube Premium revenue is added as a small separate stream.
  • Results are shown as a low–high range built from the niche/country RPM band, not a single point estimate.

How the TikTok earnings calculator works

TikTok income is the sum of the streams you select, each modeled separately:

  • Creator Rewards Program: a view-based payout, only counted if you meet the eligibility thresholds (10,000+ followers and 100,000+ views in 30 days).
  • TikTok Shop: monthly views × an estimated view-to-order conversion rate × average order value × a 5–15% commission, adjusted by niche and audience purchasing power.
  • Live gifts: based on live session frequency and a realistic concurrent-viewer estimate capped by your follower base.
  • Brand deals: a per-post rate that scales with follower count and niche value, multiplied by your chosen number of deals per month.

Niche matters: commerce-heavy niches like beauty, fashion, and health carry higher TikTok Shop and brand-deal value than entertainment or gaming.

Assumptions & limitations

  • These are estimates. Real earnings vary with engagement, watch time, ad quality, seasonality, sell-through, and platform algorithm changes.
  • Programmatic pages use representative assumptions (e.g. posting frequency) that you can override in the interactive calculators.
  • We deliberately show ranges instead of a single number to reflect real-world variance.
  • No personal data is collected — every calculation runs entirely in your browser.

Update cadence

We review and refresh the underlying benchmarks periodically as new creator income data becomes available. This dataset was last updated in July 2026.
